How’s it going?
So, do you ever have those days when everything goes so wrong that it’s kind of funny?
Today has certainly been one of those days for me. (Feel free to laugh at my misfortune, I did, it’s cathartic!) As you all know, I’m incredibly clumsy. (It’s fine, I have other strengths!) So if I don’t pay close attention to where I’m going or what I’m doing, I often find myself in hilarious and embarrassing situations.
This Morning I was running late, and my thoughts were going in a million different directions. I threw on my Pretty Dress (It had layers!) and rushed out the door. Ipad and bag in hand, I quickly made it all of the 20 feet to my car before some how preforming what I’m sure looked like some very complicated Krav Maga Style move to my neighbors, tripping over my own two feet and falling directly into my car, Hard. After recomposing myself in front what felt like 50 people but was really all of 5 or so and a few fat pigeons, I “gracefully” drove off and, unknowingly, right into a 20 minute road construction detour.
When I finally made it to the office, I noticed that I had lost a very noticeable button on my dress (I love that dress, I look like a piece of layered cake in it..so cute) and that I was about 30 minutes late. “It’s Fine” I thought. “I’ve got this! I’ll just eat my breakfast while doing my morning task list and shave 20 minutes or so off of my schedule that way.” I couldn’t find my usual bowl, (I had taken it home to properly wash it), so I grabbed a coffee mug, emptied my packet of instant oatmeal right in to it, added some water and threw it in the microwave; very satisfied with myself and my super woman like task juggling abilities. Two and a half very productive minutes later I bounced over to the microwave, swung open the door, and realized that the only thing I had succeeded in was making my oatmeal overflow all over the microwave. I then spent an additional 10 minutes cleaning the microwave… Bright side? I found a stale baggie of fruit loops in my desk to tide me over until lunch!
Yes, it has definitely been one of those days…
